This new Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.1 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4‑2400 ECC registered memory across eight 32 GB modules and a PERC H330 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA storage controller. The chassis provides sixteen 2.5‑inch hot‑swap drive trays, dual gigabit Ethernet ports, iDRAC 9 Express remote management and redundant 750 W platinum power supplies.

Buyers who need more than two CPUs

The platform supports a maximum of two processors and 1 TB of memory across sixteen DIMM slots, so organisations planning larger CPU counts or memory footprints will need a different system. No drives are included, so customers requiring pre‑populated storage must add their own SAS, SATA or SSD media. The front bezel and ready rails are also not supplied.

Sixteen 2.5‑inch drive bays

The single specification that determines fit is the combination of sixteen 2.5‑inch hot‑swap bays backed by the Dell PERC H330 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA RAID controller. This defines the maximum drive count and the supported storage protocols for the server.
