Define R5 silent mid tower

The Fractal Design Define R5 is a black steel ATX mid tower built for quiet operation. Dense sound-absorbing material lines the interior, and the ModuVent top covers let you choose between maximum silence or increased airflow. Two Dynamic GP14 140 mm fans are pre-installed at front and rear, running at 1000 RPM. The case supports ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards.

Upgrades from open or windowed cases

Builders moving from chassis with mesh panels or acrylic windows gain a solid side panel and a fully removable 5.25 inch drive cage that frees space for radiators or extra drives. The integrated three-speed fan controller handles PWM and voltage fans without software. Removable dust filters on front, top and bottom simplify maintenance when swapping to liquid cooling or adding more intake fans.

Eight 3.5 inch bays and long GPU clearance

Eight 3.5 inch positions accept both hard drives and 2.5 inch units, while two dedicated 2.5 inch mounts handle SSDs. The front accommodates radiators up to 360 mm once the drive cage is removed, and the top fits up to 420 mm with a 55 mm thickness limit for radiator plus fan. Maximum graphics card length is 440 mm, CPU cooler height 180 mm, and power supply length 300 mm without a bottom fan or 190 mm with a 120 mm bottom fan.
