This PCIe extension board adds M-key NVMe storage to a Raspberry Pi 5. It supports M.2 2230 to 2280 drives and mounts directly under the single-board computer. The bundle includes a 2 TB MP33 SSD so the system is ready to boot from fast storage immediately. Builders who need a different capacity or form factor must source their own drive.
Bundled SSD and mounting hardware
The included 2 TB MP33 drive eliminates the need to purchase and install a separate NVMe module. Rubber feet, an M2 bolt with nuts, and two lengths of M2.5 standoffs and bolts let you secure the drive and the base board in a compact stack. A flat-flex PCIe cable connects the HAT to the Pi 5 without bulky ribbons. Users who prefer a different cable length or drive brand cannot swap those parts without buying extras.
Build quality and daily connectivity
The PCB follows Raspberry Pi PIP design guidelines for long-term OS support and mechanical compatibility. Four rubber feet keep the assembly stable on a desk when the Pi is used as a file server or media centre. Pass-through mounting holes allow another HAT to sit on top, preserving the GPIO header for additional peripherals. Firmware dated 2023-12-06 or newer is required for full PCIe functionality.
