The Dell PowerEdge R530 fits in a standard 2U rack slot and ships with a single Xeon E5-2603 V3 six-core processor running at 1.6GHz. Forty-eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory are installed across the 12 DIMM slots, reaching the 48GB ceiling for this configuration. Two 300GB 15K SAS drives and a PERC H730 RAID controller provide the storage foundation.

Dual 750W hot-swap power supplies deliver redundancy without extra cabling. Eight 3.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives, while the H730 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across them.
