Compact 12 V solenoid lock for cabinets
This small lock-style solenoid pulls its slanted slug into the coil when 9–12 VDC is applied, allowing a door or drawer to open. It draws roughly 350 mA at 12 V and requires no power to stay locked. The four-hole mounting bracket makes it straightforward to secure inside a basic cabinet or safe. Hobbyists and engineers building custom access-control projects will find it easy to integrate.
Thermals noise and power draw
In normal operation the coil warms modestly while energised and returns to ambient temperature when power is removed. There are no moving fans, so the device runs silently apart from a faint mechanical click when the slug engages. Current draw stays near the rated 350 mA at 12 V, so a modest DC supply or battery pack is sufficient for intermittent use.
Slanted slug and fixed orientation
The slug features a slant cut that cannot be reversed, so the lock only works in one mounting direction. The included four-hole bracket provides rigid alignment but offers no adjustment for latch depth. No driver board, relay or control software is supplied; the builder must add switching circuitry and any access logic required for the project.

Frågor om den här produkten
How do I mount the solenoid and which way must the slanted slug face?
Bolt the 4-hole bracket to your cabinet or safe, then wire the 2-pin JST connector to a 12 VDC supply; the slanted slug is fixed in one orientation and cannot be turned around.
What ongoing maintenance does the lock-style solenoid require?
No scheduled maintenance is needed; the coil draws 350 mA at 12 VDC only while energised and the mechanical slug has no user-serviceable parts.
What limits continuous operation if I keep the solenoid powered for long periods?
The coil is rated for 12 VDC at 350 mA; sustained use beyond that voltage or current will cause overheating and is the first limit you will hit.
