Two hot-swap 500W redundant power supplies keep the server running if one unit fails. The 1U chassis uses internal fans that scale with inlet temperature and processor load. Power draw varies with CPU utilisation, memory population and the two installed 3.5-inch SAS drives spinning at 7.2K RPM.

Smart HBA H240ar controller and included SAS drives

The Smart HBA H240ar provides 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two HP 4TB 7.2K 6Gbps 3.5-inch SAS drives are installed in the four available LFF bays, leaving two bays free for expansion. The controller manages the drives without a separate cache module. No operating system is included, so the administrator must supply and install the preferred hypervisor or OS.
