Tool-less rails and hot-plug bays

The 4LFF chassis uses tool-less drive carriers and slide-out rails for quick rack mounting, while the P440 controller supports hot-plug SATA drives so replacements can be made without downtime. Common issues arise when mixing drive firmware revisions or exceeding the controller's supported drive count, which can degrade array rebuild times. Firmware and BIOS are updated to the latest stable release before dispatch to minimise compatibility surprises.

Four-bay SATA limit and 3TB memory ceiling

The chassis provides only four 3.5-inch bays, so total raw capacity is capped by the largest SATA drives available and the P440's RAID overhead. Memory expansion stops at 3TB across 24 DDR4 slots, a ceiling that cannot be exceeded regardless of module density. The integrated 1Gb dual-port 332T adapter and dual 500W power supplies define the network and power envelope for this platform.
