Because the system is completely fanless, heat dissipates through the aluminium case, allowing continuous operation from -10 °C to +60 °C at up to 95 % non-condensing humidity. The low-power 1.70 GHz dual-core CPU and solid-state storage layout avoid thermal throttling during long shifts, while the hardware watchdog timer can reset the unit automatically after a configurable interval up to 255 seconds.

Six serial ports with RS232/422/485 option

The defining I/O feature is six COM ports, with COM3 configurable for RS232, RS422 or RS485 protocols to match legacy industrial equipment. Two Intel I211-AT Gigabit LAN ports, four USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, VGA and HD display outputs complete the connectivity. Expansion is provided by two mini-PCIe slots supporting mSATA, Wi-Fi or 3G/4G modules with a SIM slot.
