This board uses the LGA 1700 socket and the Intel Z790 chipset to support 12th, 13th and 14th generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. It provides four DDR5 slots with a maximum capacity of 192 GB and dual-channel architecture. The ATX form factor fits standard chassis layouts.

Tool-free M.2 installation with four slots

The screwless M.2 Shield Frozr design lets you fit or remove M.2 drives without tools. The primary slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x4 from the CPU and accepts 22110, 2280 and 2260 lengths. Two further slots run at PCIe 4.0 x4 from the chipset and take 2280 or 2260 drives. A BIOS update may be required for some 14th generation processors.

192 GB DDR5 headroom and 5.8 Gbps Wi-Fi 7

Memory scales from JEDEC 4800 MHz up to 7800 MHz with XMP 3.0 overclocking, giving ample headroom for high-capacity kits. Networking uses Intel 2.5 Gbps LAN and Wi-Fi 7 with a 320 MHz channel for up to 5.8 Gbps throughput.
