It delivers registered ECC reliability for workloads that cannot tolerate data corruption. The single DIMM format lets administrators populate slots one at a time. Registered ECC limits mixing and platform choice

Registered ECC DIMMs cannot be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced modules on the same channel.
