Target use
The SMUGDESK adapter converts a 1.8 inch mSATA SSD to a standard SATA interface, letting you install the drive internally or run it externally through the included USB 2.0 cable. It is aimed at users who want to repurpose an idle 1.8 inch mSATA drive for extra storage or data recovery.
Speed limit
The USB 2.0 connection caps transfer rates at the USB 2.0 standard, so large file moves will be slower than a native SATA link. The adapter does not support M.2 NVMe, M.2 SATA or 2.5 inch SSDs, limiting it strictly to 1.8 inch mSATA media.
Build and connectivity
A compact PCB keeps the assembly small enough to fit tight drive bays, while the 7+15 pin SATA connector supplies both data and power in one plug. The bundled SATA to USB 2.0 cable enables plug and play use on Windows, Mac OS and Linux without driver installation.

Frågor om den här produkten
Which version of this adapter should I choose for my 1.8-inch mSATA SSD?
This model is built only for 1.8-inch mSATA SSDs; it does not work with M.2 NVMe, M.2 SATA or 2.5-inch drives.
What real-world transfer speed will I see when using the USB 2.0 cable?
The USB 2.0 cable limits throughput to the USB 2.0 standard, so expect practical speeds well below native SATA rates.
How does the SATA interface on the board affect performance?
The onboard 7+15-pin SATA connector provides native SATA data and power, so internal use runs at full SATA speed of the drive.
