Repurpose 2013-2015 MacBook Air SSD

This adapter lets you install the proprietary 12+16pin Apple SSD from 2013, 2014 and 2015 MacBook Air A1465 and A1466 models into a desktop PCIE X4 expansion slot. It provides a hardware-only connection with a standard PCI metal bracket for secure chassis mounting. The MacBook original SSD is not included.

PCIE X4 slot limits boot capability

The golden-finger connector fits PCIE X4, X8 and X16 motherboard slots and delivers stable signal transmission for data read and write. Windows and Linux recognise the drive without drivers for backup and file transfer. Most desktop motherboards cannot boot from this adapter, so it serves as a secondary storage device only.

Replaces direct MacBook drive access

It upgrades from needing a working MacBook Air to read the retired SSD, enabling desktop data recovery and storage reuse. The jump is worth it when you have a compatible A1465 or A1466 drive and want desktop speeds without a Mac. It will not work with 2012 or earlier MacBook Air SSDs, ordinary M.2 NVMe or SATA SSDs.
