The Solidigm D7-P5520 is a 15.36TB U.2 15mm enterprise SSD built with 144L TLC 3D NAND and a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface. Designed for data-centre workloads, it offers 28.0 PBW endurance and a 2000000-hour MTBF.

Replaces lower-capacity PCIe 3.0 drives

Moving from a PCIe 3.0 U.2 SSD to this PCIe 4.0 model doubles interface bandwidth and raises sequential throughput to 7100 MBps read and 3700 MBps write. The jump is worth it when your application is bottlenecked by read latency or sustained write throughput and you can use the 15.36TB capacity. If your current drive already saturates PCIe 3.0 and you need higher IOPS, this drive provides 1000000 IOPS random read.

Check U.2 15mm bay and power budget

Verify your server has a U.2 15mm drive bay and a backplane wired for PCIe 4.0 x4. The drive draws up to 20W active and 5W idle, so confirm the power budget for the slot.
