The Supermicro SYS-6018U-TR4T+ is a 1U rackmount server with two Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 processors, each running 14 cores at 2.4 GHz with a 3.3 GHz turbo. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 8 modules and a MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cached battery-backed write-back. Four 3.5-inch hot-plug drive bays accept SATA or SAS drives, while quad 10GBase-T ports and a dedicated IPMI 2.0 LAN port handle data and out-of-band management. Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies keep the platform running under load.

Suits virtualisation hosts needing many threads

This system fits teams that want high core density and 10 GbE networking in a single rack unit for virtualisation, HPC or cloud workloads. Buyers who need more than four 3.5-inch drive bays, or who require 2.5-inch bay density, should look at a different chassis. Workloads that depend on GPU acceleration are not supported beyond the basic Matrox G200 with 8 MB video memory. Organisations without rack mounting infrastructure will also need to source rails and a front bezel separately.

Four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays with SAS/SATA only

The chassis provides exactly four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays wired to the onboard SAS/SATA backplane and the MegaRAID 9361-8i controller. No 2.5-inch bays or additional drive slots are present, so storage capacity is limited to four mechanical or solid-state drives. If the deployment requires more than four drives or a different form factor, this server cannot meet that requirement.
