This 2U rackmount system ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors, each running 22 cores at 2.2 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo. The platform supports up to 1.5 TB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 24 DIMM slots.

Hot-swap bays and redundant power

Twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug drive bays accept SAS or SATA media and connect through an LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup. Redundant 1000 W titanium-efficiency power supplies and hot-swap components keep the chassis running during maintenance. A dedicated RJ45 IPMI 2.0 port provides KVM-over-LAN and virtual media for remote administration.

Quad 10GBase-T networking included

The integrated Intel X540 controller delivers four RJ45 10GBase-T ports without consuming a PCIe slot, simplifying high-speed fabric deployment. This configuration replaces older 1 GbE or dual-socket servers that lack native 10 GbE and hot-swap storage density. The jump is worthwhile when consolidation, remote management and storage scalability are simultaneous requirements.
