The Synology RS3626xs is a 2U rackmount storage server built around a 6-core Intel Xeon D-1726 processor. It arrives fully assembled with 48GB of DDR4 ECC memory and twelve 16TB Synology Enterprise SATA drives for 192TB of raw capacity. Integrated 10GbE RJ-45 ports and an included dual-port 25GbE SFP28 adapter provide high-throughput networking for virtualization, backup and multi-site collaboration workloads.

Upgrade from slower or smaller arrays

This unit replaces older NAS appliances limited to 1GbE uplinks, lower drive counts or non-ECC memory. The jump is worth it when workloads demand sustained sequential throughput above 6,300 MB/s read or 3,700 MB/s write, or when 25GbE connectivity is required for hypervisor clusters and intensive backup windows. Two PCIe Gen 4 x8 slots remain open for future cache or networking expansion.

Straightforward rack deployment

The chassis slides into a standard 19-inch rack using the included rails and dual C13-to-C14 power cords. Drives and memory are pre-installed and validated, so initial setup is limited to network configuration through the web-based management interface. Installers should verify rack depth clearance for the 724 mm chassis and confirm ambient temperature stays within the 0°C to 35°C operating range.
