The Tripp Lite SMART3000RMXL2U delivers 3000 VA and 3000 W of line-interactive sine-wave backup power in a 2U form factor that fits standard racks or stands as a tower. It accepts 120 V input through a NEMA L5-30P plug and provides seven outlets — six NEMA 5-20R and one NEMA L5-30R — for servers, networking gear or telecom equipment. Automatic voltage regulation corrects sags and swells from 80 V to 151 V, adjustable to 70 V–153 V, keeping loads online without draining the battery.

Runtime and recharge behaviour under load

At full 3000 W load the internal batteries supply approximately 3 minutes of runtime, extending to about 9 minutes at a 1500 W half load. A typical recharge from 10 % to 90 % capacity completes in less than 5 hours after a full-load discharge, so the unit is ready for the next event with minimal downtime. Audible alarms signal startup, power failure, low battery, overload and fault conditions, giving operators clear warning before shutdown occurs.

Replaceable battery pack and flexible communications

The RBC58-2U battery cartridge is user-replaceable, allowing service without removing the UPS from the rack. Communication options include a USB HID port, a DB9 serial port, contact-closure signals and an open slot for an optional SNMP or web management card, enabling remote monitoring and automated graceful shutdowns across the network. Surge energy rating is 380 joules, and the unit carries CE, FCC Class B and RoHS approvals for regulated environments.
