It targets administrators who need 10Gb copper connectivity on Windows Server, Linux or ESXi hosts without fibre cabling.

Installation Brackets and Driver Source

A 12cm standard bracket is fitted and an 8cm low-profile bracket is included for slim chassis. The card fits any PCIe 3.0 x4, 2.0 or 1.1 slot with four lanes. Drivers must be downloaded from the Intel website or requested from the supplier; no media is bundled. Mac OS is not supported.

10GBASE-T reaches 55m over Category 6 cable and 100m over Category 6A. The PCIe 3.0 x4 interface provides 8.0GT/s per lane, capping theoretical throughput at the bus level.
