This HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 server system fits a standard 2U rack space and ships new. It runs a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 processor with twelve cores at 2.3 GHz and thirty-two threads when hyper-threading is enabled. The board provides thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory across twenty-four DIMM slots. Dual five-hundred-watt redundant hot-swap power supplies are included.

Suited for SATA-only storage arrays.

The B140i software RAID controller supports SATA drives at RAID zero, one, five and ten across eight small form factor two-and-a-half-inch bays. Two drive trays with screws are supplied but no drives are installed. Buyers who require hardware RAID, NVMe support or SAS connectivity should look at a different controller or server configuration.

Maximum installed memory is thirty-two gigabytes

Although the platform can scale to three terabytes with two processors and larger modules, this unit arrives with thirty-two gigabytes as the installed total and the listed maximum capacity. Adding memory beyond that figure would require additional processors and higher-capacity DDR4 DIMMs not present in this configuration.
