This 2.5" enterprise drive delivers 480 GB of capacity over a SATA III interface for read-intensive server workloads. Capacity and read-focused headroom

The 480 GB volume handles large read-heavy datasets and multi-tenant read workloads with consistent latency. Sequential and random read performance scales to the limits of the SATA III link, so the interface becomes the bottleneck before the flash does. Workloads with sustained heavy write streams will exhaust the drive's write endurance well before the capacity fills.

Smart Carrier and firmware features

The HPE Smart Carrier adds a "do not remove" button and status icons that show drive health at a glance, reducing accidental removal during service. Digitally signed firmware ensures only trusted code runs on the controller, blocking unauthorised modifications. HPE SmartSSD Wear Gauge lets administrators track remaining endurance and schedule replacements before failure risk rises.
