Five-port USB 3.2 10 Gbps PCIe card
This StarTech.com expansion card adds three external ports and one internal header to a desktop computer. It uses the ASMedia 3142 controller and connects through a PCI Express 3.0 slot. The bracket fits both full-profile and low-profile chassis.
Suits builders adding mixed USB-A and USB-C ports
The card provides two USB-A ports and one USB-C port at the rear, plus a 20-pin IDC header for two internal 5 Gbps ports. A SATA power connector enables 15 W on the USB-C port and 4.5 W on each USB-A and internal port. UASP support is included for faster storage transfers. Buyers who need more than five ports or require USB 3.2 20 Gbps speeds cannot use this card.
PCI Express 3.0 x4 slot required
Installation needs an available PCI Express 3.0 slot with at least four lanes. The card supports Windows 7 through 10, Windows Server 2008 R2 through 2019, Linux kernels 3.5 to 4.11.x LTS and macOS 10.13 through 11.0.

Otázky k tomuto produktu
Should I pick the model with the internal IDC header or one without it?
This card includes a 20-pin IDC header that adds two internal USB 3.0 ports running at 5 Gbps each, so choose it if you need front-panel USB ports; otherwise a version without the header saves the internal connector.
What does the 10 Gbps rating deliver when I plug in a fast external SSD?
The 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 lanes give up to 10 Gbit/s per port; with UASP the card sustains near that throughput for NVMe drives, so large sequential transfers hit the rated ceiling.
How does the PCIe 3.0 x4 slot affect the 10 Gbps USB ports?
The card uses a PCI Express 3.0 x4 connection, providing enough upstream bandwidth to run all three external ports at their full 10 Gbps simultaneously without bottlenecking.
