256GB DDR4-2133 ECC LRDIMM kit

This 256GB kit contains four 64GB DDR4-2133 ECC load-reduced DIMMs built for Dell PowerEdge 13th generation rack servers. It targets administrators upgrading R430, R530, R630, R730, R730xd, R830 or R930 platforms that require registered ECC memory. The modules operate at 1.20V with a CL15 latency rating. Desktop or laptop systems cannot use this memory type.

Capacity and headroom for virtualised workloads

Four quad-rank 64GB modules fill four slots and deliver 256GB total, letting a compatible server host larger VM counts or in-memory databases. Speed is locked to DDR4-2133 (PC4-17000), so bandwidth tops out at that rate even if faster DIMMs are present. Mixing with registered ECC DIMMs is not supported; all installed modules must share the same load-reduced ECC type. Buyers needing more than 256GB per CPU or higher memory speeds must select a different platform.

288-pin build and server mounting implications

Each module uses a standard 288-pin DDR4 DIMM form factor without a heat spreader, relying on chassis airflow for cooling. The load-reduced design reduces electrical load on the memory bus, allowing the high 4Rx4 density in Dell's 13th generation rack chassis. Installation follows the server manual's channel and population rules; incorrect seating order will prevent boot. Systems limited to unbuffered non-ECC memory cannot accept these modules.
