Builders limited to 5 mm to 7 mm drive heights or single-channel SAS host adapters will find the specification a mismatch. Systems without a free 5.25" opening or eight SATA ports cannot accommodate the unit.

Each bay requires its own SATA 7-pin connection to the controller, so the host must present eight ports or an expander.
