The TP-Link TX401 adds a single 10 Gigabit Ethernet port to a desktop PC through a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. It targets users who need faster wired throughput for large file transfers, NAS access or multi-gigabit internet plans. The card includes both standard and low-profile brackets plus a 1.5 m CAT6A cable.

PCIe 3.0 x4 Interface Determines Compatibility

The adapter requires an open PCIe 3.0 x4 slot (or larger) on the motherboard. Bandwidth scales down automatically to 5 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps or 100 Mbps when connected to slower switches or cables. Without a compatible slot the card cannot be installed.
