The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core processor at 1.6GHz with 24GB of DDR4 memory in a 1U chassis. It targets small-business virtualization, file serving or light database tasks where density matters more than core count. The system ships without an operating system.

Redundant power and hot-plug drive bays

A 550W redundant supply keeps the server running if one module fails. Eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives; three 600GB 15K SAS drives are installed behind a PERC H730 controller with 1GB cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.
