SMUGDESK mSATA to 2.5" SATA Adapter
This adapter board converts a PCIe mSATA solid-state drive into a standard 2.5 inch SATA II storage device. It fits common 2.5 inch drive bays inside desktop PC chassis for internal secondary storage expansion. The product targets DIY builders who want to recycle an old mSATA SSD as a system disk or data backup drive. It is not suitable for users with M.2 NVMe, M.2 SATA or other non-mSATA form factor drives.
Driver-free installation and compatibility notes
Mount the mSATA SSD onto the adapter board using the onboard connector, then secure the assembly into a 2.5 inch bay and attach standard SATA data and power cables. No drivers or extra software are required for Windows, Linux or other mainstream operating systems. The most common error is attempting to use an M.2 NVMe, M.2 SATA or non-PCIe mSATA module, which the adapter physically and electrically rejects. Verify the drive is a genuine PCIe mSATA SSD before purchase.
SATA II 3Gbps bandwidth limit
The adapter operates at the SATA II specification, capping maximum transfer speed at 3Gbps regardless of the native capability of the installed mSATA SSD. This ceiling affects large sequential file moves and benchmark results more than typical daily file storage or system boot tasks. Builders needing higher throughput for intensive workloads should note this interface constraint. The product does not support NVMe protocol or any interface beyond SATA II.

שאלות על הפריט הזה
How can I confirm the mSATA SSD is recognised after installing the adapter?
Check BIOS or operating system disk management to see the drive listed as a SATA device; successful detection means the 22-pin connection is working.
What comes with the adapter and what must I supply myself?
The board includes the SATA 22pin interface; you must provide the mSATA SSD, a SATA data cable and a SATA power lead from your PSU.
Which mSATA SSD type is compatible with this adapter?
Only PCIE mSATA SSDs are supported; M.2 NVMe, M.2 SATA and other form factors will not fit or function.
