The Dell PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade server built for virtualisation, private cloud and high-performance computing workloads. Dual Intel Xeon Platinum 8260 processors deliver 24 cores each at 2.4 GHz with 3.9 GHz turbo frequency. 512 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory is installed across 16 slots, leaving room to reach the 2 TB maximum.

Chassis integration and I/O

This blade requires a compatible PowerEdge MX or M1000e chassis for power, cooling and fabric connectivity. The PERC H330 controller manages the two 1.92 TB SATA SSDs over a 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA interface with RAID 0/1/5/10/50 support. A Broadcom 57810S-K dual-port 10 Gb network daughter card provides high-speed connectivity, while iDRAC9 Enterprise enables full remote management. No front bezel or ready rails are included.
