The chassis holds eight 3.5-inch drive bays populated with 4 TB 7.2K SAS drives and a PERC H330 controller. iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides remote management.

Upgrade from single-socket or smaller storage arrays

Moving from a single-socket server or a system with fewer drive bays adds a second Xeon Silver 4114 and doubles the memory channels, which helps heavily threaded workloads. The jump is worthwhile when workloads need more than 10 cores total or when storage capacity must grow beyond what a 4-bay chassis can hold. The PERC H330 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, and 50, so existing arrays can be migrated without changing the controller.
