This Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 fits in a standard 2U rack space and ships with two Intel Gold 6132 processors running at 2.6 GHz, each offering 14 cores and 19.25M cache. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 memory arranged as eight 16 GB modules at 2666 MT/s. It is aimed at organisations that need dense compute and storage in a single rack unit.

H730P RAID controller and iDRAC9 Enterprise

The H730P controller manages the eight installed 960 GB SAS SSDs and provides hardware RAID across the 2.5-inch drive bays. Integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise enables full remote management, monitoring and firmware updates without physical access. The network daughter card delivers two 10 Gb RJ45 ports and two 1 Gb RJ45 ports for flexible connectivity.

Eight PCIe Gen 3 slots and 1100 W redundant PSUs

Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 expansion slots are available for additional networking, storage or accelerator cards. Dual 1100 W redundant power supplies are fitted, so verify that your rack power distribution can support the required connectors and load. No optical drive is included, and the bezel does not feature an LCD panel. Rails and power cords are supplied.
