24-Bay 2.5-Inch SAS Limit

The chassis provides 24 bays for 2.5-inch drives using a SAS interface connected to the PERC H730P controller. This controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. The installed pair of 300 GB 10K SAS drives occupies only two bays, leaving the remaining capacity for expansion. Network connectivity comes from a quad-port daughter card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports.

Dual-Socket Ceiling at Two CPUs

The Intel C620 chipset and LGA 3647 sockets allow a maximum of two processors, which are already installed, so no further CPU upgrades are possible. Memory can scale to 3 TB across 24 DDR4 slots, but the current 128 GB configuration uses only eight slots. Buyers who need more than two sockets or a different processor generation should look elsewhere.
