This 2U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors running at 3.0 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo. It includes 64 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across four 16 GB modules. The system provides twelve 3.5-inch drive bays populated with 8 TB SATA hard drives. It targets organisations deploying virtualisation, database or analytics workloads that need dense storage and dual-socket compute in a standard rack footprint.

PERC H755 RAID Controller and SATA Drives

The Dell PERC H755 controller manages the twelve SATA drives with 8 GB of non-volatile cache and a battery backup. Supported RAID levels include 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The SATA 6 Gb/s interface limits each drive to that maximum throughput, so sustained performance depends on the 7.2 K RPM mechanical media. PCIe Gen4 lanes connect the controller to the CPUs for controller-to-host bandwidth.
