The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Gold 6416H processors. Each CPU delivers 18 cores at 2.2 GHz with a 4.2 GHz turbo frequency. The system targets virtualization clusters, AI inference, database engines and software-defined storage workloads that demand high core density and memory bandwidth in a compact form factor.

H965i RAID Controller with NV Cache

The bundled PERC H965i front controller adds 8 GB of non-volatile cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS, SATA and NVMe drives. Eight 2.5-inch hot-swap trays are included, letting administrators populate up to half the 16-bay chassis immediately. iDRAC9 Datacenter provides full out-of-band lifecycle management, while the Broadcom 5720 OCP 3.0 card supplies four 1 GbE ports for baseline connectivity.

DDR5-4800 Memory Ceiling at 8 TB

The platform maximum is 8 TB, so very large in-memory databases will eventually hit that limit.
