The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for general-purpose workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3 GHz and 16 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. The platform supports a second processor for up to 20 total cores and 40 threads.

16 GB DDR4 with 16 DIMM slots

Installed memory is 16 GB across 16 DIMM slots, eight per processor, with a maximum capacity of 1 TB when both sockets are populated. Modules run at up to 2400 MT/s depending on the CPU. The current 16 GB fits light virtualization or file services, while heavier consolidation will require additional DIMMs and a second processor.

Redundant hot-swap power and 8 SFF bays

Dual 550 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy in a 1U chassis. Eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays hold the two included 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives, with six bays free for expansion. The B140i software RAID controller supports RAID 0, 1 and 5 on SATA only. A Matrox G200 provides basic video output.
