The configuration works for virtualisation hosts, database nodes or web tiers that start with one CPU and can add a second Xeon E5 v3 later. H240ar controller sets the storage boundary

The Smart HBA H240ar provides 12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA connectivity with hardware RAID across all supported levels. It manages the two included 1 TB 7.2K drives and any further large-form-factor disks you add. If your deployment requires a different RAID feature set or a controller with cache backup, this server will not meet that requirement.
