Dual Xeon E5-2643v3 server

This 2U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2643v3 processors, each running at 3.4 GHz with six cores. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across the 24 DIMM slots. It is built for organisations that need a dense compute platform for virtualisation, database or high-performance computing workloads. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics controller provides basic video output for management consoles.

24-bay SAS chassis with P440 RAID

The front panel holds 24 small-form-factor 2.5-inch drive bays populated with two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives. An optional rear cage can add two more bays. The HP Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB flash-backed write cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across 12 Gb/s and 6 Gb/s links. Two hot-swap 500 W redundant power supplies keep the system running during a module failure. No operating system is included.

Sustained load on six-core Xeons

Under continuous multi-threaded work the dual six-core Xeons maintain their 3.4 GHz base frequency across 12 physical cores and 24 threads. The P440 flash-backed cache absorbs write bursts without draining battery-backed RAM, preserving array consistency during extended rebuilds or heavy logging. DDR4 memory runs at speeds up to 2400 MT/s depending on the processor capability, feeding the cores without throttling. The 2U airflow design and redundant fans keep thermals stable during round-the-clock operation.
