Industrial Relay Module for Raspberry Pi Zero WH

This six-channel relay board targets makers and engineers building automation projects with a Raspberry Pi Zero WH. It combines RS485 and CAN bus interfaces in a single ABS enclosure. Onboard power-supply isolation and photocoupler isolation protect the host from high-voltage relay circuits.

Check host headers and software stack before

The module communicates over UART for RS485 using an SP3485 transceiver and over SPI for CAN using an MCP2515 controller with an SN65HVD230 transceiver. Verify that your Pi Zero WH exposes the required UART and SPI pins and that your operating system supports the corresponding kernel drivers. The board draws power from the Pi header so confirm the 5 V rail can supply the additional load.

Replaces separate RS485

Integrating both field buses and six isolated relays into one case removes the wiring and mounting effort of stacking multiple HATs. The jump is worth it when a project needs mixed Modbus RTU and CANopen networks with surge protection from onboard TVS diodes, resettable fuses and protection diodes. Projects requiring only a single protocol or fewer channels may not benefit from the combined hardware.
