LORDWORLD PN532 NFC HAT for Raspberry Pi 40PIN

SKU CH-CNZ1-E8EE0

Adds NFC and RFID reading to a Raspberry Pi through a 40-pin header using I2C, SPI or UART interfaces selectable by jumpers

  • Fits Raspberry Pi boards via 40PIN GPIO header
  • PN532 chip reads MIFARE and NTAG2xx NFC cards
  • Choose I2C, SPI or UART with jumpers and switches
  • Breakout pins simplify links to STM32 or Arduino hosts
  • Ready-to-use Python and C examples speed up development

Raspberry Pi 40PIN NFC HAT

The LORDWORLD PN532 HAT adds near-field communication to any Raspberry Pi board with a 40PIN GPIO header. It is aimed at makers, students and engineers prototyping contactless card readers, access-control prototypes or NFC tag automation projects. The onboard PN532 controller handles the RF front end so the host only manages high-level commands.

Passive board thermals and power

The HAT draws its supply directly from the Pi GPIO pins and contains no active cooling or voltage regulators of its own. In normal operation the PN532 chip runs cool enough that no heatsink or fan is required and the board adds negligible load to the Pi 5 V rail. Silent, zero-fan operation is inherent to the design.

Three selectable interfaces and breakout pins

Jumpers and switches let you choose I2C, SPI or UART without rewiring, so the same HAT fits Python, C or STM32/Arduino host code. Broken-out control pins expose IRQ, RST and VEN signals for custom firmware timing or external MCU integration. No extra cables or level shifters are bundled.

Domande su questo articolo

How do I install the PN532 NFC HAT on a Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO header and which jumper setting is often missed?

Align the HAT with the 40PIN header, press down evenly, then set the jumpers and switches for I2C, SPI, or UART before powering on; the interface selection step is frequently skipped.

What ongoing maintenance does the PN532 NFC HAT require after deployment?

No scheduled maintenance is needed for the PN532 chip itself; keep the contact surface clean and reseat the HAT if communication errors appear after thermal cycles.

What is the first limitation encountered during sustained NFC reads with the PN532 chip?

Continuous polling can heat the PN532 die, causing reduced read distance or temporary timeouts until the chip cools.
