Portable NVMe enclosure for USB4 and Thunderbolt 3

The Orico M2V01-C4-GY-BP accepts a single M.2 2280 NVMe SSD up to 4 TB and connects through a USB4 Type-C port at 40 Gbps. It also works with Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 hosts. The all-aluminium body and included thermal vest conduct heat away from the drive without a fan.

Fits a single M-key or B+M-key NVMe stick.

The tray takes one 2280 module and the supplied 2-in-1 cable provides both a USB-C to C lead for 40 Gbps links and a USB-C to A lead for 10 Gbps ports. No external power adapter is required, so the enclosure draws power directly from the host port. SATA, AHCI and PCIe non-NVMe devices are not supported.

Aluminium chassis and thermal vest sustain

ORICO laboratory figures show a sequential read of 3151.14 MB/s and write of 2551.15 MB/s on a compatible drive, reaching the 3000 MB/s theoretical ceiling. The CNC-cut aluminium shell and full-wrap cooling vest keep temperatures stable during long transfers, while UASP, TRIM and smart sleep after ten minutes protect the SSD.
