140mm DRGB case fan

The Phanteks MG-F140PDRGB_BK is a 140mm case fan built for system builders who want addressable lighting and PWM speed control in a single unit. It uses a rifle bearing and nine blades to deliver 85 CFM at up to 1500 RPM. The black frame measures 140.00 x 140.00 x 25.00 mm and includes rubber dampeners to reduce vibration. Twelve integrated DRGB LEDs light the blades and support daisy-chain cabling for simpler routing.

Upgrade from fixed-speed or non-RGB fans

This fan replaces basic 3-pin or fixed-speed 120mm units when the chassis supports 140mm mounts and the builder wants per-fan colour control via a 5V DRGB header. The jump is worth it when the case airflow path benefits from the higher 85 CFM rating and the PWM curve can be tuned to keep noise near 29 dBA at typical loads. It is not for builders whose cases only accept 120mm fans or who lack a 5V DRGB header on the motherboard or controller.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous operation the rifle bearing maintains the 1500 RPM target with a +/- 10% tolerance while the PWM signal adjusts speed to match thermal demand. The rigid frame and rubber dampeners keep vibration-induced noise stable rather than letting it creep up over time. Airflow remains at the rated 85 CFM as long as the static pressure curve is not exceeded by dense radiator fins or restrictive filters.
