Wireless solar security system

The Reolink Home Hub bundles two Argus PT cameras and a solar panel for wire-free outdoor monitoring. Each unit captures 5 MP video at 2880 x 1620 resolution with pan, tilt and colour night vision. The system supports up to eight Reolink cameras managed locally through the hub.

Dual-band Wi-Fi and local storage

Cameras connect on 2.4 or 5.0 GHz bands using internal antennas and also accept an RJ45 link for the hub. A 64 GB microSD card is included and recordings are encrypted on the device, so footage remains accessible during internet outages. Battery and solar power remove the need for mains wiring.

Practical limits of wire-free operation

Battery life depends on sunlight exposure and motion activity, so extended overcast periods may reduce uptime. Pan and tilt movement is motorised but not continuous, limiting tracking of fast-moving subjects. The hub manages only Reolink cameras, so mixed-brand setups are not supported.
