Dual-socket Xeon server for virtualization

This 2U rackmount system ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 16 cores. A total of 256 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory is installed across 8 DIMM slots, leaving 16 slots free for expansion up to the platform maximum of 1.5 TB. The board uses LGA 2011-3 sockets and the CSE-829UAC-R1K02-T chassis series.

Hot-swap drive bays and redundant titanium power

Twelve front-accessible 3.5-inch trays accept SATA or SAS drives and connect to the included LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 are supported. Two 1000 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy. A dedicated RJ45 port gives IPMI 2.0 access with KVM-over-LAN and virtual media. Front bezel and rack rails are not included.

Quad 10GBase-T networking

The add-on card AOC-2UR-6-i4XT supplies four RJ45 10GBase-T ports driven by the Intel X540 controller. The MegaRAID 9361-8i handles eight SAS 12 Gb/s lanes, so four of the twelve bays require an additional controller or expander to be used. Video output is limited to the Matrox G200 with 8 MB memory, intended for management console use only.
