Universal Drive Adapter
The Adiven AD-STAIDE connects 2.5 and 3.5 SATA or IDE hard drives and SSDs to a computer through a USB 3.0 interface that also accepts a USB-C plug. It also supports 5.25 optical drives such as DVD-ROM and CD-RW units. A 12V 2A power adapter and a 4-pin power cable are included for devices that need external power.
Suits archive work not permanent installs
This adapter is aimed at users who need to recover files, clone disks or back up data from legacy drives on Windows systems from Vista through 11 or on Mac OS. It supports hot swapping so drives can be changed without a reboot. Builders who want an enclosure for permanent installation or who need an internal connector should look at a different product.
Dual-head IDE connector decides fit
The kit provides a dual-head IDE connector with 40-pin and 44-pin ends plus a single SATA III connector, so the only way to attach an IDE drive is through those specific headers. If a drive uses a different interface the adapter cannot accommodate it.
