The DELL OptiPlex 5080 Micro is a new business desktop built around an Intel Core i7 10700T 8-core processor running at 2.0 GHz with 16 MB L3 cache. It ships with 8GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD 630 graphics drive two DisplayPort outputs and a single USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi are included. No monitor, keyboard, mouse or speakers are supplied.

Upgrading from older office PCs

This system replaces ageing desktops that rely on mechanical hard drives and lower-core-count CPUs. The 1TB NVMe drive cuts boot and application load times while the 8-core 35 W processor handles multitasking across office suites, browser tabs and video calls. The jump is worth it when your current machine stalls on large spreadsheets or slow disk I/O. Buyers who need discrete graphics, additional internal drive bays or legacy VGA and DVI ports should look elsewhere.

Sustained workload thermal behaviour

The 35 W TDP processor is cooled by an internal air-cooling solution designed for the compact chassis. Under continuous load such as long renders, large dataset processing or back-to-back video conferences, the fan speed will ramp to maintain temperatures within specification. Performance remains stable for typical business workloads; extended all-core turbo may be limited by the small-form-factor thermal envelope. The unit includes an OEM AC adapter matched to the system power requirements.
