Purpose-built density

The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processors running at 2.3GHz with a 3.4GHz turbo frequency. Twenty cores per socket and 512GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory provide a compact platform for virtualization, cloud infrastructure and dense data analytics.

Upgrade path

This configuration replaces older 1U or 2U systems that cannot reach 20 cores per processor or 512GB of memory in a single rack unit. The jump is worthwhile when workloads demand higher core counts and larger memory footprints without expanding rack space.

Build integration

The chassis accepts up to ten 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives managed by a PERC H745 controller with 4GB NV cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 1400-watt platinum power supplies and an OCP 3.0 10GbE SFP+ network card are installed, while iDRAC9 Enterprise handles remote management. Rails and bezel are included.
