Dual Xeon 2U server for virtualised workloads

The PowerEdge R730 fits into a standard 2U rack and delivers two Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors running at 2.4 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory spread across four modules provides a solid base for hypervisors, VDI or database nodes. iDRAC 8 Enterprise gives full out-of-band control without extra licensing.

Memory headroom to 1.5 TB and eight drive bays

Twenty-four DIMM slots allow growth from the factory 64 GB up to 1.5 TB, so memory-heavy applications can scale without a chassis swap. The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across eight 2.5-inch SAS or SATA trays. No drives are included, so capacity and redundancy are chosen at build time.

Quad-port networking and redundant power included

An Intel X520/I350 daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, removing the need for a separate NIC in most rack layouts. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide hot-swap redundancy from day one. ReadyRails and the front bezel are also bundled, so the unit mounts and presents cleanly without extra parts orders.
