The Dell PowerEdge R730xd packs twenty-four drive bays into a 2U rack chassis. Dual Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors deliver twenty cores at 2.6 GHz with a 3.3 GHz turbo. Registered ECC DDR4 memory totals 768 GB across twenty-four slots. A PERC H730 controller manages the twenty-four 800 GB SATA SSDs.

The H730 controller battery backs cache during continuous write streams across all twenty-four SSDs. Dual 750 W platinum supplies share load without interruption when one unit is removed. iDRAC 8 Enterprise monitors thermal headroom and power draw in real time while the system runs production databases or virtual desktop farms.

SATA 6 Gb/s ceiling and PCIe lane budget
