2U rack server with twelve 3.5" bays

The Dell PowerEdge R730XD is a 2U rack server designed for storage-dense workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory. Twelve hot-plug drive bays support SAS or SATA drives, and three 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives are installed. A Perc H730 RAID controller provides hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

Dual 750 W redundant power supplies

Two hot-swap 750 W power supplies deliver redundant power for continuous operation. The 2U chassis uses forced-air cooling with multiple system fans to manage thermals for the CPU, memory and drive bays. A DVD-ROM drive is included in the front panel. The server supports up to two processors and 1536 GB of DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots when fully populated.

iDRAC8 remote management and PCIe 3.0 slots

Integrated iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller provides out-of-band remote management for deployment and monitoring. Networking is handled by a daughter card with four 1 GbE ports, with optional 10 GbE upgrades available. The system offers up to six PCIe 3.0 expansion slots plus a dedicated RAID card slot for additional connectivity. Rails and drive trays are included for rack mounting.
