Dual Xeon Gold 6430 2U Server

The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Gold 6430 processors running at 2.1 GHz with a 3.4 GHz turbo. Thirty-two cores in total provide the parallel throughput needed for virtualization, database and AI workloads. It ships with 128 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory across eight modules.

Memory capacity and storage headroom

Twelve DIMM slots remain open, allowing expansion up to the platform maximum of 8 TB. The front chassis holds sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays; eight drive trays are included and the PERC H965i controller with 8 GB NV cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for SAS, SATA and NVMe drives. No drives are installed, so buyers who need immediate capacity must add them.

Thermals power and acoustics

Dual 1400-watt platinum power supplies deliver redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The 2U form factor relies on high-speed internal fans to cool two 32-core CPUs and a full complement of drives, so rack airflow must be planned accordingly. iDRAC 9 Datacenter provides out-of-band thermal monitoring and remote management.
