This 5U rack platform combines compute, storage and networking in a single chassis. Two M630 blades each carry dual 2.4 GHz eight-core processors and 128 GB of DDR4 memory. Twelve 20 TB 7.2K SAS drives provide high-capacity bulk storage behind a single S130 controller. Four 1600 W redundant power supplies and a single CMC handle power and management duties.

Upgrade from separate blade enclosures

Consolidating blades, shared storage and switching into one 5U unit reduces cabling, rack space and management overhead. The jump is worth it when workloads need local high-capacity SAS storage and moderate compute density without a full blade farm.
