The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2630 v3 processors at 2.4GHz and 64GB of DDR4 memory. It targets administrators running virtualized workloads or database tasks that benefit from 32 threads. The B140i controller provides software RAID for SATA drives only.

Check power and drive bay needs

Verify that your rack supplies dual redundant 500W hot-swap power connections and that the 2U height fits the available space. The chassis includes eight 2.5-inch SFF bays but ships with only two drive trays and no drives installed. The B140i controller supports SATA RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10; it does not support SAS or NVME drives.

Expands to 3TB memory and 24 SFF bays

Twenty-four DIMM slots allow growth from the installed 64GB up to 3TB of DDR4 ECC registered memory at up to 2400MT/s. Optional media bay, NVME bay or additional SFF cages can increase drive bays to 16 or 24. The Matrox G200eH2 GPU with 16MB video memory handles basic console output. No operating system is included.
